UITG Catalog Inspector
This notice describes what UITG Catalog Inspector actually does. It is not a lawyer-drafted policy, and a physical address is not published yet.
After a merchant installs the app, it reads that store's products through the Shopify Admin API with the read_products scope. The fields used by the scan are product title, whether the product is a gift card, description, whether an image is present in the first 10 media items, variant title, SKU, and price. One scan reads at most 500 products.
It does not collect customer names, emails, addresses, or orders. It does not create, update, or delete products, and it does not request permission to write product data. It does not sell store data, does not use it for advertising, and does not send it to an analytics or advertising service.
The Shopify session, including the shop domain and access token, is stored in a SQLite database on the application server so the merchant can open the app again. The server is operated for this app. Scan results stay in memory for that server process only. They are not written into a product database, and they are discarded when the process stops or when that shop starts a new scan.
Each scan is tied to the shop that authorized it. A result for one shop is not returned to another shop. When the app is uninstalled, or when Shopify sends a shop data deletion request, the stored session for that shop is deleted and the in-memory scan is discarded. Customer data requests and customer deletion requests are acknowledged. This app has no customer records to return or delete.

The app records operational events for the installing shop: installation, opening the app, starting a scan, finishing a scan, exporting a CSV, and uninstall. A scan event can include the product count, issue count, duration, and whether it succeeded. These records do not include product descriptions, customer personal data, or access tokens. The development store used by UITG is marked separately from merchant totals. Usage records are deleted when Shopify sends a shop data deletion request.
